No matter where you live in Auckland, we make it easy for your children to get to school each day. Both Saint Kentigern campuses are serviced by a large fleet of dedicated buses, operated on our behalf by Howick and Eastern Bus Company.
Every day, over 1500 of our students make use of an extensive Saint Kentigern bus network that covers a wide area of Auckland, from Britomart in the city, to as far south as Pukekohe, out west to Mt Albert and many, many routes in between. All the routes are well detailed with many pickup points, and subsidised fees are only charged per zone.
During the winter sports season, the College also runs a further six buses across Auckland at the conclusion of after-school practices and rehearsals. This greatly reduces the need for parents to travel through rush hour traffic to collect their children at this busy time of day.

Useful Information
Registering and charging
- All students who wish to catch the bus to or from school MUST complete the 2025 Bus form, detailing which bus they would like to catch in the morning and afternoon, and which suburb they live in.
- Suburbs are divided up into zones, with each zone having a different charge, depending on distance from the College.
- Bus trips are either one way (1-5 trips per week) or return (6-10 trips per week).
- There are a number of middle school and senior school buses that run in the afternoon, so please ensure you register on the correct bus according to your students age.
- Bus charges are added to your debtor account in April and July each year.
- Students may only ride the bus that they are registered on. For health and safety reasons, we need to be aware who is riding each bus should we need to contact parents/caregivers (in the event of a break down for example).
- Regular checks are performed throughout the year to ensure that all students are registered for the bus they are riding.
- If there is a change of circumstance during the year (student moves house for example), please contact accounts@saintkentigern.com to amend the students bus registration details.

Catching the bus
- No card is issued for a student to ride a bus. To ride the bus, the student simply boards the bus they are registered for in the morning and the afternoon.
- In the afternoon, all buses assemble at the front of the College with their route number clearly displayed. Please ensure that your student knows which bus they are riding. Buses are held until all students have boarded and will depart the school by 3.40pm.
- Each bus route has designated pick up and drop off stops. For health and safety reasons, students CANNOT be picked up or dropped off anywhere else along the route.
- For morning routes, please ensure your student hails the bus as it approaches the bus stop. Please do not keep your student waiting in the car, as the bus driver may miss the stop. Although we do have regular bus drivers, there may be times that a driver is absent due to illness and so a replacement driver will be used.

Annual College Bus Fares
The College provides a subsidised bus service for Saint Kentigern College Students. Please note the fees are subject to change.
Bus fees are charged to your college account in two instalments (April and July). Bus Fees are based on a bus route, calculated on a ‘distance from the College’.
A ‘One Way’ charge is equal to 1-5 trips, to be taken in either the morning or the afternoon. A ‘Return’ charge is equal to 6-10 trips, to be taken in either the morning or the afternoon. No discount can be applied to the above options.

College Late Winter Buses
During the winter season, the College runs six buses that cover a wide area of Auckland at the conclusion of after-school practices and clubs. The aim is to greatly reduce the number of parents who need to travel through rush hour traffic to the College to pick up students from activities in the winter months when the sun is setting early.
All students are welcome to use this service. The buses cost $6 per trip to use and leave the College at 5:15pm Monday – Thursday evenings during all of Term 2 and part of Term 3 (the College will give two weeks’ notice when the buses are finishing in Term 3 via notice on OLE and published in College newsletter). Students using this service are required to have their Student ID ready to be scanned by the Bus Coordinator before boarding the bus. Parent accounts will be charged each month.
