Summer Tournament Week
April 04, 2017 at 8:04 PM
Last week, a large number of regional and national secondary school sports championships took place across the country with many of our students involved. Despite the bad weather taking its toll on events, there were a number of individual and team titles achieved. Well done to all the students who competed and gave it their all, along with their coaches, managers and support crews for their hard work and dedication.
Special congratulations to our triathletes who won national titles in the individual and team events. Along with five individual gold medals, three team gold medals and a further four silver or bronze places on the podium, Saint Kentigern College was also named overall top School for the competition.
Our Boys’, Girls’ and Mixed Tennis teams all came away with bronze in the national team events and they now move on to their individual championships this week.
There was tough competition down at the Maadi Cup in the rain on Lake Karapiro, but our U18 Boys IV came away with bronze.
Our Girls’ Touch team and Boys’ Waterpolo team each scored silver in their respective competitions which now qualifies them for the national finals. Our cricketers also have further play in their 20/20 this week,
Again, congratulations to all students, supporters, coaching staff and managers, for all the time and effort put into this week, withstanding the wild weather to bring back a haul of medals.
