Students March at ANZAC Parade

April 27, 2021 at 9:39 AM

The College Prefects and members of the College and Old Collegians Pipes and Drums joined together to march towards Stockade Hill in Howick on Anzac morning for the commemoration service held there.

Uniting the community, veterans and the current serving personnel, this occasion was a very poignant event and encapsulated the last words of Saint Kentigern’s mission statement …'for the glory of God and in the service of others'.

To conclude the service, College Head Boy, Harry Lowe and Deputy Head Girl, Sophia Hynds, laid a wreath on the memorial before the full parade gathered to march through the village. Although it was a small gesture in standing with the veterans around the cenotaph, it was collectively very significant to see so many young people assembled and paying tribute to those who had served our country in previous conflicts.
