Safer Internet Day 2014

February 10, 2014 at 4:31 PM

In encouraging our students to become good digital citizens, the College is proud to support ‘Safer Internet Day’ (SID) being celebrated worldwide on Tuesday 11 February. This global day aims to promote the safer and more responsible use of online technology and mobile phones, especially amongst children and young people across the world.

This year’s theme is ‘Let’s create a better internet together’ in the hope that children and young people, parents and carers, teachers and educators will join in marking the day and working together to build a better internet for all, but particularly children and young people.

Working with SID is Netsafe, a New Zealand organisation who promote confident, safe, and responsible use of online technologies by educating and supporting individuals, organisations and industry on a range of issues. The College will be supporting NetSafe’s online survey that looks at young people’s attitudes towards safety online, and what help they feel they need to improve their online experience. The survey is short, online and completely anonymous.
