Preschool Mother's Day

In between unpredictable autumn downpours, the Mothers, Grandmothers and special women in the lives of our pre-schoolers hastily made their way through the rain to the Preschool for the annual Mother’s Day Morning Tea.
A delightful chorus of songs from the children commenced the celebration, all of the proud ladies beaming and looking on. A special poem giving thanks to the women, especially Mothers, was read out by the Director of the Preschool, Mrs Sue Nash, and was inscribed on the cards made by the children to be handed out later in the morning:
Take one cup of sweetness
Throw in a great big smile,
Add 2 Tablespoons of laughter
Then stir for a little while.
Mix in some hugs and some kisses,
A cup of kindness too.
Now that’s a perfect recipe
For a great Mum just like you!
The children and their guests then got down to the business of icing cupcakes and decorating them with sprinkles, silver balls and hundreds and thousands – the original sugary creations then eagerly devoured! Following the great teamwork, the adults were treated to a lovely morning tea.
The morning concluded with each Mum, Grandma and guest being given a small brightly wrapped pink gift to take home as a small token of appreciation.
The occasion was a great opportunity to pay tribute to the treasured women in the lives of our youngest Sons and Daughters of Saint Kentigern.
