Preschool celebrates Father's Day

September 04, 2015 at 3:25 PM

Father’s Day came early for the dads and granddads of students at the Preschool today! Dads, stepdads, granddads, uncles, godfathers and other special male figures were invited to the Preschool to spend the morning with their little ones and take part in some fun activities.

They were welcomed to the school by Preschool Director, Mrs Sue Nash and some great singing by the students. The dads were each presented by a framed portrait of themselves that the students had drawn before having a go on the wide variety of equipment in the play area. It was a tough call to say who was having the most fun, the students or the dads! By then the special treat had arrived – a visit from Old McDonald’s Travelling Farmyard! The children and adults were able to get up close the lambs, pigs, kid goats, rabbits and guinea pigs and have a hands-on experience of farm life.

Undoubtedly the highlight was getting to have a ride on the ponies – this one was for children only though! There was unbridled delight on the students’ faces as they were lifted onto the pony and taken for a ride in the school grounds. Cameras were flashing and videos being taken on phones as the dads endeavoured to capture the moment.

After the excitement, the students led the dads inside to show them some of the activities they do during their day and the work they have completed recently. Judging by the dad’s faces, this Father’s Day preview is going to be hard to top when the real thing comes around on Sunday!
