Performing Arts and Media Studies USA Tour

A large group of 48 students and 7 staff have commenced an amazing two week trip to the USA. Staff were delighted after the long journey when NZ cabin crew commended the students’ politeness and behaviour during the flight.

Their first stop has been in San Francisco with a whirl wind visit of the sights. They’ve taken a cable car ride to Fisherman’s Wharf, made the 5.5km round trip walk across the Golden Gate Bridge in glorious weather with clear skies, and stopped off at Alcatraz Island – Mr McQueen reports that tempting as it was, he didn’t leave any students behind at Alcatraz!

The group is a mixture of arts and media studies students each with a different focus. Throughout the trip, the group will divide for a range of activities which so far has included; a visit to Pandora an innovative Internet music provider Company HQ for the media studies group and a performance by the San Fran Ballet Company for the dancers, and a world premier play by the local San Fran theatre Company for the drama students….Their next stop is the ‘Big Apple!’
