On a day that offered perfect racing conditions, the College fielded a large number of athletes. For the youngest competitors, this was their first taste of competition.

The Aquathon comprises two disciplines, an open water distance swim, followed by a run. In this instance, the athletes were swimming in the waters of the Tamaki Estuary bordering the College campus before running a loop that included the estuary walkway. Entrants could compete as individuals, undertaking both legs of the race or as a tag team with the first person swimming then tagging their team mate to complete the run.

Congratulations to the individual Gold medal winners; Liam Ward in the Senior Boys and Dylan McCullough in the Junior Boys.

Congratulations also to Madison Clarke for winning Bronze in the Junior Girls’ event.

In the Tag Team event, Mayah Coleman and Hannah Ward teamed up to win Gold. Well done girls!

In addition to our medal winners we were pleased to note that in large fields of competitors, many of our College athletes were placing in the top 10.
