Hats for Headway!

June 05, 2019 at 11:21 AM

The Girls’ School turned heads as they walked up Remuera Road to Chapel at Somervell Church last week! Dressed in their formal uniforms from the shoulders down, the girls replaced their straw hats with fluffy, bright hats of all shapes and sizes to raise awareness around brain injuries for Headway’s brain injury week. Headway is a charity that helps improve the lives of people and families in the Auckland region affected by brain injury by providing support, navigation and education.

With the drive to raise awareness and money to help people with brain injuries, in particular children, the Girls’ School Student Council set out on the mission to have every girl come to school with a donation and special hat of their choice. This made for a fun-filled morning for the girls as a sea of colourful animal hats, beanies, bucket hats and more flooded into Chapel.

The morning was a great success with funds raised donated to help people in our community. Well done girls!
