Hamilton Wins Girls’ School Junior School Cross Country!

September 17, 2019 at 10:15 AM

After postponing the Junior School Cross Country due to weather conditions, the Girls’ School Year 0-3 students enjoyed the event yesterday in the sun. All dressed in their House colours, the girls raced not only for House points but to also win podium places. Supporters gathered around the Boys’ School field to cheer on the students as they raced the 1km and 1.5km courses.

First up were the Year 0-1 students who, with the help of the Girls’ School Senior leaders, ran the 1km course. This proved challenging for some but with great determination they all crossed the finish line. In the end, Evie Reynolds claimed first place for the Year 0s and Alyssa Wary for the Year 1s.

Following on, the Year 2 and 3 girls ran the 1.5km course. The girls ran with great enthusiasm and pushed themselves to cross the finish line in record time. Lydia Tang was pleased to cross the line first for the Year 2 group and Kasey Wary for the Year 3s.

House points were collected throughout the event which resulted in Hamilton placing first, Chalmers second, Wishart third and Cargill fourth. Well done to all the girls for a great effort and especially to those who took podium spots!
