Great Cycling Results at Tour of North Harbour

May 27, 2015 at 3:22 PM

The School Cycling Tour of North Harbour was held in what can best be described as atrocious conditions over last weekend! On a weekend when a weather bomb was promised – and duly delivered - over 30 Saint Kentigern Cyclists braved the wind and rain to compete in the 4-stage event.

Despite the inclement conditions, our riders came away with some very favourable results.

James Fouche and Sam Titter-Dower won the overall series in the U19 and U17 Boys event.

Dylan McCullough and Callum Walsh were 2nd and 3rd respectively overall in the U15 Boys. Campbell Jordan was 2nd overall in the U13 Boys.

In the girls’ race, Lizzy Mudford secured 3rd place in the Stage Two Road Race and Stage 4 Criterium in the U19 Girls event and Kate Fouche placed 2nd in the U17 Individual Time Trial.

There was also a large number of top 5 and top 10 placings by Saint Kentigern riders, all contributing valuable points towards becoming the top school overall - which our boys won for the second year running.

For many of our riders it was their first ever tour, for which they deserve congratulations given the very challenging conditions!
