Never mind MasterChef, Hottest Baker or MKR… Saint Kentigern has the most exciting cooking competition in the country! The final of ‘SKC Kitchen Rules’ takes place at lunchtime tomorrow in front of a live audience in the Jack Paine Centre. The representatives from each house have been found after four very competitive heats. The teams of two will serve four individually plated gourmet burgers in a high-pressure cook-off! Every move by the chefs will broadcast onto the JPC’s big screen, adding to the extreme intensity.
The burgers will be judged by an esteemed panel. Head of College, Mr Cole and Head of Senior School, Mrs Winthrop will be joined by three parents from our community, Winnie Charlesworth, Andrew Maehl and Bart Littlejohn. Ms Charlesworth and Mr Maehl have sponsored the competition prizes, with $500 to be won. Mr Littlejohn is owner of Sails restaurant and a renowned hospitality industry professional. The judges will be assessing the visual presentation of the burger, its taste and originality, the technical expertise shown and the teams’ timing, hygiene and organisation.
The representatives of each House are:
Hamilton: Jacqueline Chang and Rebecca Roberts
Chalmers: Zac Attwood and Leon Chaplow
Wishart: Alex Southwick and Ryan McEwan
Cargill: Holly Foster and Cameron Biland
Get down to the JPC at lunchtime tomorrow to watch all the action and excitement. Good luck to all the contestants and may the best burger win!
