Spanish is one of three languages taught at the Girls’ School to Year 7 and 8 students. The creative thinking skills of students are sharpened when they learn a second language and are exposed to the sound and sight of unfamiliar words.

An opportunity to demonstrate their speaking skills was on show at full school assembly today. Mia Duncan introduced the demonstration which consisted of an amusing skit about a New Zealander visiting Spain and the ensuing pitfalls that befall a tourist in a foreign land. The group also presented a Spanish song. This was a fitting way to finish International Languages week.
