Girls' School Receives Platinum World Vision Award

September 13, 2013 at 2:19 PM

We are pleased to announce the Girls’ School has received a platinum award from World Vision, having fundraised just over $5,000 in both the 20 and 40 Hour Famines.

The platinum award recognises the Girls’ School outstanding contribution to the Famine in 2013. Saint Kentigern has a longstanding relationship with World Vision, and for a number of years we have been the highest fundraising school in the country.

Devon Davids from World Vision presented the certificate to the school at Chapel service this week, and spoke to the students on how the funds had helped to plant nutritional vegetable gardens in the village of Bougainville, Papua New Guinea.

Olivia Moorman and Madelaine Freeland accepted the award on behalf of the School and Ms Jan Davidge, who helped the girls in their fundraising efforts for the Famine.
