Excelling in Speech and Drama

Many students at the Boys’ School take advantage of the weekly ‘Head Held High’ speech and drama lessons to hone their speaking and acting skills. This year, 52 boys from Year 4 and above took part in the Trinity College of London Examinations. These examinations expose boys to a performance environment that is appropriate for their age and skill level, in front of an examiner. We are pleased to report that 26 of the boys were awarded ‘Distinction,’ the highest Trinity grade and an accomplishment to be extremely proud of. Distinction is awarded for a mark of 85/100 and above.
Two of the boys have an extra reason to be proud! Sean Trombitas and Daniel Haines both scored over 90 points! Well done!
This morning all the boys had the chance to showcase their work at an informal concert for their families. From poetry and prose recitals, to acting in pairs and small groups, to being brave enough to improvise, it was a fabulous chance to see what the boys have been working on.
