Cross Country - Girls' School

Weeks of long distance training was put to the test last week for the girls as they joined together with the Boys’ School to compete in their annual Cross Country. Whether their goal was to secure a placing, beat last years’ time or complete their laps around the field, the girls across Years 4-6 certainly gave it their all around the sprawling College track.
It was a pleasing effort from all girls who took part, and it was a chilly day but everyone pushed hard and represented their House with great determination! For the second year running, the hilly course trail was taped out on the fields in front of Bruce House and spanned a 1 kilometre distance.
The well churned track was easily transformed into a ‘suction mud’ track so the students had to push themselves even harder. Even with their shoes laced securely on, many were lost (and eventually found!) to the pull of the mud as they made their way around.
Congratulations to the following students on their placings. The top Year 5 and 6 runners will now go on to represent Saint Kentigern in the Remuera Zones competition.
