Competing in three different events over two days, the College recorded their best ever results at the New Zealand Individual Cycling Championships, gaining podium spots across almost all events for both Boys and Girls and breaking the Boys U16 national record.
Held in Mt Wellington over the weekend, this was led by Mikayla Harvey who gained 1st in the overall Championship title after placing 5th in the Time Trial, 1st in the Hill climb and 2nd in the Criterium.
In the Individual Time Trial, Connor Brown broke the U16 Boys national record, while both Josie Clow (U20) and Ayden Lamont (U17) gained Silvers. James Fouche (U16) and Callum Walsh (U14) claimed Bronzes, and Jamie Lindsay was just half a second off doing the same.
These stand-out performances were numerous throughout the extremely competitive fields from across the country, as the College proved itself to be the most dominant school at the Championship.
The Hill Climb, a steep sprint up Mt Wellington, produced exciting results for the College with Mikayla Harvey (U16) claiming Gold; Callum Walsh (U14), Silver; Ayden Lamont (U17) and Madeline Evans (U20), gaining Bronze medals.
The Criterium provided both excitement and a medal haul: Both James Fouche (U16) and Ayden Lamont (U17) won their respective divisions, with Silvers from Mikayla Harvey (U16), Jamie Lindsay (U15), Samuel Smith (U16 B Grade) and Sam Dakin (U20).
Bronze medals were gained by Elizabeth Mudford (U16), Aleisha Lamont (U15) and Dylan McCullough (U14).
After totalling points from each of the three events, podium spots were achieved by Mikayla Harvey (1st overall); Callum Walsh, Connor Brown, and Ayden Lamont (2nd overall); Dylan McCullough, Samuel Smith (B Grade), Jamie Lindsay and Josie Clow (3rd overall).
