College Students Volunteer In Library

While their peers are enjoying a break away from school, the student librarians at the College are on campus volunteering hours of their time. With the renovation of the Goodfellow Centre, which incorporates the library and learning commons, nearly complete, the time has come to stock the shelves ahead of the grand opening during Term 2. The library’s collection has been under wraps – though still accessible for borrowing – while the construction has been taking place. Now the project is reaching its final stages, the books need to be dusted off and have electronic tags fitted for use with the new automated issuing system. With nearly 10,000 books to get through, it is a huge job. That’s where the student librarians stepped in! The team has dedicated the final week of the school break to helping the College librarians ensure the stock is in tip-top condition and in keeping with the new surrounds! We thank the students for all the hard work they put in at the library throughout the year and especially for giving up part of their term break!
