College Productions Nominated for 19 Showdown Awards

Each year the Showdown organisation has the mammoth task of watching dozens of Auckland Secondary School drama and musical productions in order to determine the most outstanding students and staff in a variety of categories.
This year the College’s Senior School Drama ‘The Crucible’ and Musical ‘West Side Story’ have been nominated by the judging team for a total of 19 awards in both acting and technical categories.
In the past the College has had significant success with a number of category wins including:
Best Supporting Actor in a Musical, Rory Nolan, Beauty and the Beast
Best Costume Design for Head of Drama, Emma Bishop, Seussical and Wizard of Oz
Best Musical Director for Head of Music, Ross Gerritsen, Wizard of Oz
Best Set Design, Ross Gerritsen, AIDA
The Awards evening will be held at the Sky City Theatre on November 6th.
