College Open Day

We are absolutely delighted with the success of our College Open Day. The Chapel of Saint Kentigern was full to overflowing with well over 450 prospective parents and their children in attendance for the morning; recognition that places at Saint Kentigern are still in high demand.
Visitors were treated to a welcome by the Pipes and Drums before taking a seat in the Chapel for a presentation by Head of College, Steve Cole. The College premier choir, Kentoris entertained with a contemporary piece, conducted by former student Lachlan Craig, before our senior students guided the guests on tours of the campus. The weather was glorious and both the campus and our students were at their very best as visitors were led through the classrooms to see classes in action followed by morning tea with senior College staff. We are thankful to our Parents and Friends Association who organised a team of willing helpers to assist with catering.
Open Days will be held next week on 12 March for our Girls’ School (Years 1-8) and Preschool (Age 3 and 4) and another will be held at the Boys’ School on 15 March. Regular Campus Tours will resume at the College from 20 March.
Giving prospective parents the opportunity to visit the campuses pays dividends. Not only do they see our outstanding facilities but, more importantly, they see students who are settled and engaged in their learning. By taking tours with students, they ‘hear it like it is!’ We can be justifiably proud of the students who led the tours at the College, they did a superb job. Already we are starting to receive applications for places for 2014.
