Over the last week our top tennis players have been competing in the Auckland Championships.
Conditions over the three days were extremely hot but they all managed some very good results.
Trent Smith won the Senior Boys Single beating the top player from Kings College, Westlake Boys and Auckland Grammar School on his way to victory
Kelly Drew and Rachel Swindell were the senior girls entrants and they dominated this section with Kelly Drew winning the Senior Girls Singles, Rachel was runner up and then combined to win the doubles with only dropping a couple of games along the way.
In the Intermediate Girls CT Ampornachariya was runner up in the Girls Singles and combined with Lana Popovich in the doubles to place second.
Freddie Cashmore-Chatwin, Junior Boys, had a great week beating the first and second seed to become Junior Boys singles Champion. He was also runner up in the doubles with Sajith Dhambagolla.
The Junior Girls did very well with Victoria Hockley and Alysha Nowacki winning the junior girls doubles. They were on court for close to two hours!
With all the results combined together the Girls’ team won the overall Girls’ trophy while the boys missed out by one point to Auckland Grammar School.
