Our College had a busy morning yesterday stocking ‘The Shed’ for the first time this year. With House points up for grabs, there was plenty of food to be seen, in fact, piles! Especially Weet-Bix, as it was one of this term’s ‘priority items’.
Once all the items were counted and the College vans were packed, some of the students, with the help of parents, spent the morning unloading the items into ‘The Shed’. The shelves went from empty to full within minutes!
‘The Shed’ initiative introduced last year, aims to deliver 32 food boxes to 16 schools on a weekly basis and with each Foodbank collection held every term, students are encouraged to bring different ‘priority items’ (which change every term depending on what is needed).
Congratulations to Wilson House who gained the most points.
This term’s priority items were:
2 points – Cans of Baked Beans, Tomatoes, Fruit, 2 pack of Toothbrushes
3 points - Box of 30 Teabags, 4 pack of Soap, Toothpaste
4 points – 500g Pasta, 210g Kings Soup Mix, 1kg Rice, Jam
5 points – 425g Cans of Tuna and Salmon, 12 pack of Toilet Rolls
6 points – 750g Weet-Bix
