College Choir Considered For National Finale

June 20, 2013 at 10:27 AM

Our College premier Choir, Kentoris, has been selected into the top five Mixed Voice Choirs in Auckland, at the Big Sing Choral Festival held at the Auckland Town Hall last week.

The choir will now be considered for the National Finale once again, and the group were also successful in receiving a Highly Commended award on the night.

Also recognised was Menasing, the Year 9-13 boys’ choir, who was awarded a placing of Commended, which was one of only seven handed out on the evening.

All three of our Choirs sang at the annual Festival - Kentoris, Menasing and Musettes, with over 100 students singing.  There were nearly 70 choirs competing over three days, and the Saint Kentigern Choirs were strongly represented.

Kentoris also performed to a full town hall last Wednesday night at the gala performance and unveiled their new uniforms to the public, with thanks to Mungo’s and Frank Casey suits.
