Chris Zhang to play Tennis for New Zealand!

Year 8 student at the Boys’ School, Chris Zhang is a tennis player who has steadily risen through the ranks over the last year. After his success at local, regional and national age group championship tournaments last year, Chris has now been selected as the youngest of a team of three boys to represent New Zealand in the U14 team. The team will be competing for qualification places in the 2014 ITF World Junior Tennis Finals at the upcoming World Junior Tennis Asia/Oceania Final Round Qualifying event in India towards the end of April. The New Zealand teams will compete against 15 other countries from the Asia/Oceania Zone, with just four teams progressing to the World Finals in Prostejov, Czech Republic later in the year.

In the lead up to the event, the team will first travel to Australia in early April where they will compete in up to three lead in tournaments as preparation. Well done Chris!
