Boys' School Win at Winterfest Waterpolo

At the first waterpolo tournament of the season, the top Year 7 and 8 waterpolo teams from schools across Auckland came together over the weekend to compete for the coveted Winterfest title – a title our boys were proud to win!

Plenty of practice had our swimmers well prepared but even so, every game was tough and in pool play they did drop one game against Sacred Heart. Despite this loss, they had enough points to make it through to play King’s in the quarter finals where they had a solid victory 8-1.

Next was the highly skilled Northcross Intermediate team from the North Shore in the semi-final game. What a game it was with the boys stealing victory with a golden goal to win 4-3!

The final was against Sacred Heart who they had lost to in pool play but the boys came back more aggressively and had a convincing win 7-3 to be crowned the Winterfest champions. Well done boys!
