Bounce, Leap, Run, Throw!

There were high spirits, today, on the Boys’ School top field as the Junior School Athletics got underway in glorious sunshine! Giggles giggled out as the boys bounced along in hessian sacks, there was extreme concentration as they willed the ‘egg’ to stay on their spoon and sheer exuberance as they set off sprinting down the track – one group overshooting their 50m finish line and carrying on in leaps and bounds to the end of the field oblivious to the marshals calling out to stop!

Never one to shy away from a challenge, Principal, Mr Peter Cassie lined up for the egg and spoon – and quickly discovered that it’s not as easy as it looks. Boys like competition, so away he streaked, only to drop his ‘egg’ over and over. The ‘steady as you go’ juniors, lapped their Principal to win the race!

Our senior boys were on hand to assist and did a fabulous job explaining new skills to their young charges. We are also grateful to the parents who volunteered to time.

Well done to all the boys for a wonderful morning of free-spirited competition and congratulations to our Junior School Champions!
