The 2020 House Relay Competition

The sun was beaming as a sea of yellow, red, blue, and green House shirts filled Martyn Wilson Field for the Boys’ School and Girls’ School House Relay event this morning. Attracting many supporters, this event is a highlight on the school calendar and is a great time for both schools to join to cheer on their top runners and have some fun.

The Year 4 girls and boys were the first runners of the day, and as the morning unfolded, House spirits rose and the competition on the field became more intense! Students on the side lines chanted, sang and danced in support. As always, Rev Reuben Hardie was not shy about joining in, leading off the all-time favourite action song, YMCA, encouraging students, staff and parents to all join in!

With all the points tallied, Cargill took the top honours for Girls’ School with Chalmers on top of the podium for the Boys’ School. Well done to all our runners – including all staff and Old Collegians who picked up the baton to compete in the final race.
